Local Vancouver Non-Profits Partner With Calgary Company To Save Lives In Ethiopia with proceeds from iPhone App, CrushFactor.
Vancouver, BC May 7, 2009 -- Calgary-based company Robots & Pencils, have partnered with Waterdrop and imagine1day to bring clean water and proper sanitation to the village and have committed to donating 10% of gross revenue from their latest iPhone App, CrushFactor.
The latrine and clean water access are part of a Grade 1-4 primary school which will accommodate 400 children and become the heart and future for this community's 2,000 inhabitants in Gerambero, Ethiopia.
According to Robots & Pencil's CEO Michael J. Sikorsky, "Access to clean water is problem plaguing the world today and WaterDrop and imagine1day are doing incredible work to bring life to the people of Gerambero. We're proud to support it!"
Sapna Dayal, the Executive Director of Imagine1day, said "Our partnership with Robots & Pencils is a perfect example of innovative social responsibility, enabling a local Canadian company to have an international impact."
Construction of the school begins in January 2010 and will be completed by June 2010. The sustainable community project aims to provide full access latrine, health care, clean water resources, community gardens and over 2,000 fruit trees.
